The benefits of your commission, both to you and the general public, are enhanced with each performance. Therefore, it is useful to encourage multiple performances of the new music. Recordings, extra performances, or publicity and promotion of the music to other performers will do so much more for the new work. Therefore, in addition to commissioning the music, one should also consider:

• Funding a recording of the music
• Funding additional concerts
• Offering your assistance in publicizing and promoting further performances of the work, or in the distribution of the recording.
